Community Statement
The Battlement Mesa Metropolitan District (BMMD) would like to share an important update regarding its longstanding partnership with the Battlement Mesa Service Association (BMSA).
After thoughtful consideration, the BMMD Board of Directors has decided not to renew the management agreement with the BMSA when the current contract expires on December 31st, 2026. While this marks the end of one chapter, it also creates an opportunity for both organizations to focus on their individual missions while continuing to serve the same community we all call home.
For many years, BMMD has been honored to provide management services to the BMSA in addition to its primary responsibility of delivering safe and reliable water and wastewater services. We are incredibly proud of what has been accomplished through this partnership and are grateful for the relationships we have built with the BMSA Board of Directors, committee members, volunteers, and residents along the way.
As Battlement Mesa continues to grow and evolve, both organizations recognize the value of dedicated leadership focused solely on their respective responsibilities. This transition will allow BMMD to devote its full attention to the District's utility operations, infrastructure, and long-term planning, while providing BMSA the opportunity to establish management that is exclusively focused on serving the Association and its members.
Over the coming months, BMMD will work closely with the BMSA Board and its future management team to ensure a smooth, organized, and professional transition. Our commitment is to make this process as seamless as possible so that services continue without disruption.
Most importantly, this change does not affect the water and wastewater services provided by the Battlement Mesa Metropolitan District. Residents can expect more dedication, but the same professionalism, and commitment to excellence that BMMD has always strived to provide.
Communities are strongest when organizations work together toward a common goal. Although BMMD and BMSA will be moving forward independently, we remain neighbors, partners, and advocates for the continued success of Battlement Mesa. We look forward to supporting one another in our respective roles and working cooperatively whenever opportunities arise.

We are grateful for your trust, your collaboration, and your commitment to making Battlement Mesa a wonderful place to live. We wish the BMSA continued success as it begins this next chapter, and we remain excited about the future of our community.
